Over 800 pupils aged 11–13 from 27 under-represented Bradford schools have been invited to the Oxplore Festival, a two-day event aimed at encouraging applications to the University of Oxford. The festival, held on 9–10 July, is part of a collaboration with Feversham Girls' Secondary Academy, focusing on students from Bangladeshi and Pakistani backgrounds.
Dr Samina Khan, Oxford’s director of undergraduate admissions, emphasized the event’s goal of making higher education feel accessible and inspiring. The festival includes interactive workshops, a mobile planetarium, and virtual experiences of university life. Caius Lee, a Bradford native and Oxford academic, will also lead a music workshop.
